US-UK target Houthis across Yemen in airstrike

A series of airstrikes shook Yemen, hitting various locations including the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah airport. The Houthi-controlled Al Masirah TV reported the attacks, noting strikes also occurred in the south of Dhamar city.

While Al Masirah TV pointed fingers at US and British forces for conducting the airstrikes, a British government source denied any involvement. The ongoing conflict stems from Iran-aligned Houthi militants launching attacks on international shipping near Yemen in support of Palestinians during Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

The continuous Houthi attacks have triggered retaliatory strikes from the US and UK, leading to disruptions in global trade as ships are forced to navigate longer routes to avoid conflict zones. The Red Sea and Suez Canal have particularly been impacted, with vessels rerouting around the southern tip of Africa to ensure safe passage.
