Ukraine alleges drone strike on Russia’s Borisoglebsk air base

The recent attack on the Borisoglebsk aviation center in western Russia’s Voronezh region by Ukrainian drones has raised tensions between the two countries. The Ukrainian forces targeted the base, which stored guided aerial bombs, Su-35 and Su-34 fighter jets, and aviation fuel. This attack is part of a larger conflict between Ukraine and Russia, with the Borisoglebsk aviation center being a key strategic location for the Russian military.

NASA satellite monitoring showed active fires at multiple locations in Borisoglebsk, confirming the attack on the air base. In response, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted or destroyed 113 Ukrainian drones, with 25 drones intercepted over the Voronezh region alone.

This recent incident is not the first time the Borisoglebsk aviation center has come under attack, with previous assaults in August and April. The ongoing conflict highlights the volatile situation in the region and the escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
