Three Shahed drones breach Belarus airspace as Lukashenko helicopters – 78 characters

Belarusian airspace was violated by three Shahed drones from Ukraine on Oct. 3 while Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian dictator, was airborne. The drones, originating from Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine, were sighted heading towards Gomel Oblast in Belarus. As two drones passed over Novaya Guta en route to Gomel, the third drone flew over Loyew, also in the Gomel region. Simultaneously, Lukashenko’s helicopter was flying south from his Ozerny residence. Prior to this incident, Ukraine had issued an air-raid warning in the northern regions due to the potential threat of Russian Shahed drone attacks.

This development occurred approximately a month after the Belarusian Air Force intercepted Shahed-type drones within its airspace on Sept. 5. Additionally, Ukraine recently received a Patriot air defense system from Romania, as confirmed by a Romanian Defense Ministry spokesperson, Constantin Spinu. While the claims made by the monitoring group Belaruski Hajun have yet to be independently verified, these events underscore the ongoing tensions and security concerns in the region.
