Section 144 has been imposed in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Sargodha, with Rangers called in to maintain law and order. The Punjab government has requested three companies of Rangers for Lahore on October 5. In Rawalpindi, Attock, and Sargodha, Section 144 will be effective from October 4 to October 6.
This decision follows recommendations from the district administration. Meanwhile, Islamabad police have formed seven teams to arrest protestors ahead of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protest. Each team, led by a sub-inspector rank officer, will target local activists and those traveling to Islamabad for the protest.
