Recruitment Center for Volunteers to Join Ukrainian Armed Forces Opened in Poland
By: Sputnik International
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced the opening of the first recruitment center for volunteers to join the Ukrainian armed forces in the Polish city of Lublin. This initiative aims to gather volunteers from Ukraine to serve in the Ukrainian Legion, a volunteer military unit created as part of a security cooperation pact between Poland and Ukraine. The volunteers will undergo training in Poland and at NATO bases in Europe.
Despite concerns raised by Russian officials about Western military support for the Kiev regime, the recruitment center in Lublin is actively seeking Ukrainian citizens willing to serve. The center, located at the Ukrainian Consulate in Lublin, provides opportunities for volunteers to receive training, uniforms, and logistics from Ukraine while receiving weapons and equipment from Poland.
Furthermore, the aim of the Ukrainian Legion is to enhance the capacity of the Ukrainian armed forces amidst the ongoing conflict in the region. This recruitment center signifies a unique collaboration between Poland and Ukraine in strengthening security measures.
