Khawaja Asif accuses PTI of trying to sabotage SCO summit

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of trying to sabotage the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Islamabad.

In an interview with ARY News, Asif claimed that PTI’s protests are a deliberate attempt to disrupt the important conference. He alleged that the party, with backing from Israel, is working against Pakistan’s interests as part of a larger conspiracy to destabilize the country.

Asif emphasized the significance of the SCO summit for regional cooperation and warned of severe consequences if it is disrupted. He called on political leaders, the judiciary, and citizens to prioritize national interests and understand the gravity of the situation.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi stated that the federal government will take all necessary measures to prevent protest demonstrations in Islamabad. He highlighted the diplomatic meetings and events taking place in the capital city, including visits by the Malaysian Prime Minister and a Saudi delegation.

Mohsin Naqvi urged PTI leadership to refrain from protests due to security concerns and upcoming international events. He also requested the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reconsider the decision to hold demonstrations in Islamabad, reminding that Section 144 is in place and no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
