Israeli airstrike on Tulkarem camp kills 18: Ministry | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Devastation struck the Tulkarem refugee camp in the West Bank as Israeli air strikes left at least 18 people dead. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported the casualties, while the Israeli military claimed they targeted the head of Hamas’s infrastructure in the area.

Footage showed scenes of wreckage and flames in the densely populated camp. This attack comes amidst a surge in Israeli military raids across the West Bank since October 2023, resulting in 695 Palestinian deaths.

UN expert Francesca Albanese warned of a dangerous escalation in Israeli assaults in the West Bank, calling it a part of a broader pattern of genocide against Palestinians. The international community has condemned the attack, with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas denouncing it as a “heinous crime”.

As tensions rise in the region, the ongoing violence has also spilled over into Lebanon, with Israeli forces engaging in conflict with Hezbollah.

The need for peace and stability in the region is urgent as the toll on civilian lives continues to mount.
