Israel launches massive assault on Beirut, blocks Lebanon-Syria road | Lebanon News

Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, was rocked by huge explosions in its southern suburb overnight. Israeli fighter jets conducted 11 consecutive raids, the most violent attack on Beirut yet, according to a source close to Hezbollah. The bombardment was so intense that car alarms went off, and buildings shook, causing chaos among residents.

Fears of wider war

Tensions in the region escalated after Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel, triggering threats of retaliation. The situation is at a boiling point, with fears of an all-out war looming. Lebanese Minister Ali Hamieh reported a four-meter-wide crater from an attack near the border crossing into Syria.

The conflict has forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes, with Israel justifying its actions to secure its border and protect displaced individuals. The situation remains tense, with potential for further escalation.
