The Israeli army confirmed the death of two soldiers and injuries to over 20 others in a drone attack from Iraq last Wednesday. The attack occurred at a military base near the Golan Heights. It was the first time Israeli forces suffered casualties from Iraqi resistance activity. The army identified the fallen soldiers as members of the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade. An investigation revealed two explosive drones were launched, with one successfully hitting the base.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attack, citing solidarity with Palestinians and Lebanese. The faction has been targeting Israeli sites for months, hitting locations from Haifa to Eilat. The Al-Qassam Brigades praised the operation, emphasizing the message that Israeli aggression will lead to more losses. The ongoing resistance signals a united front against occupation forces in the region.
