‘Hwang Sang-moo chosen as new host for KBS program “Meet the Terror”‘

Former presidential senior civil affairs secretary Hwang Sang-woo, who stepped down from the presidential office due to “hoejak terror” remarks targeting an MBC reporter, has been confirmed as the host of an economic program on KBS, a Korean broadcasting affiliate, for over a month.

Hwang began hosting the program “Economic Spotlight” on KBSN (KBS N) on August 26, broadcasting on the KBS Life channel every Monday at 4 p.m. The show has aired a total of 5 episodes so far, with no mention of the controversy surrounding the “hoejak terror” threat during Hwang’s first broadcast.

Hwang’s return to broadcasting has been met with gratitude by KBSN CEO Lee Kang-deok, who stated that although there was controversy over his remarks, there was no actual threat. Hwang has a background as a former journalist at KBS, where he held various positions such as New York correspondent, social affairs chief, and main anchor for “News9.”

Overall, Hwang’s comeback to broadcasting seems to have been well-received, with hopes for a smooth continuation of his hosting duties on KBS.
