In a recent interview, Darko Juka, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Croatian National Assembly, reported on the unprecedented disaster that struck a canton, causing mass devastation and loss of life. With services mobilized from the early hours of the morning to aid victims and save lives, Juka emphasized the importance of coordinated rescue efforts.
The situation was dire, with entire sections of roads and railways submerged or collapsed, leaving areas like Donja Jablanica completely isolated. Tragically, the death toll had already reached 16, with fears that more casualties would be discovered as recovery operations continued.
Juka highlighted the heroic efforts of rescue teams, including the use of boats and military aircraft to evacuate survivors and deliver supplies. Despite the challenges, the resilience and solidarity of the community were evident, with many volunteering to donate blood for the victims.
As the crisis unfolded, Juka urged well-meaning individuals to coordinate any assistance through official channels to ensure effective support for those in need.
