The European Union plans to elevate its partnership with Morocco following a recent decision by the European Court of Justice that affected trade agreements with Morocco. The decision, the final ruling after multiple appeals, declared previous agreements invalid. In response, the EU intends to strengthen and maintain its relationship with Morocco across all areas of their partnership.
A Joint Statement by President von der Leyen and High Representative/Vice-President Borrell emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relations with Morocco, in accordance with mutual agreements.
