The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet recently approved a series of measures to address various issues in Pakistan. This included a supplementary grant of Rs45 billion for defense, an increase in the maximum retail price of anti-rabies vaccines for public hospitals, and a special allowance for Anti-Narcotics Force personnel. The ECC also approved funding for Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming UN climate change conference in Azerbaijan.
The ECC recognized the shortage of anti-rabies vaccines in a hospital in Islamabad and approved an increase in the price of the vaccine to ensure an adequate supply. Additionally, a proposal to increase the special allowance for ANF employees was approved to align their compensation with other federal law enforcement agencies.
Furthermore, the ECC approved funding for defense projects and for Pakistan’s participation in the COP29 conference to showcase its efforts in tackling climate change. The committee also considered funding for the upcoming South Asian Games in Pakistan, requesting a more detailed plan before final approval.
These decisions highlight the government’s commitment to addressing key issues and participating in international events to showcase Pakistan’s progress and initiatives.
