Denmark charges 2 Swedish Teens for Explosions near Israeli Embassy in Copenhagen

Two Swedish teenagers have been charged with possession of hand grenades and detonating two of them near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. The 16 and 19-year-olds were arrested at the main railway station in Copenhagen and are currently in custody, pleading not guilty during a preliminary hearing.

The prosecutor disclosed the charges, but their names are not allowed to be published. The teenagers will remain in custody until October 30th. Although there were no injuries in the explosions, the building near the embassy suffered damage.

Another 19-year-old man was detained in Copenhagen but released after questioning. The motive behind the explosions is still under investigation, amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Denmark has seen an increase in charges related to organized crime, with some tied to Iranian security services. The Iranian government has denied these allegations. The incidents in Denmark come in the aftermath of heightened conflicts in the Middle East involving Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah.
