Juba lawyer Gabriel Kuot Akok is standing firm on his decision to sue the Warrap State Government for extrajudicial killings, despite recent developments.
After notifying the Justice and Constitutional Affairs Ministry of his intent to sue over a law permitting killing by firing squad, Akok’s actions have led to the removal of Warrap State Governor Kuol Muor Muor by President Salva Kiir.
Although Muor Muor is no longer in office, Akok remains determined to see the case through. He is currently awaiting the opinion of the Justice Minister to move forward with the lawsuit.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Akok expressed his commitment to pursuing the suit and obtaining the legal opinion needed to proceed, emphasizing that he will not be deterred by the change in leadership.
