Attack on migrants including Egyptians, Mexican Border chaos

In a tragic incident near the town of Huixtla, Mexico, six migrants lost their lives and ten others were injured when Mexican soldiers mistakenly opened fire on a group of 33 migrants traveling in a small truck. The group consisted of individuals from various nationalities, including Egyptian, Nepalese, Cuban, Indian, and Pakistani.

The Mexican Ministry of Defense reported that the soldiers fired upon the trucks as they believed them to be associated with criminal gangs in the area, leading to the casualties. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Egyptian citizens in the incident and vowed to work closely with Mexican authorities to investigate the circumstances.

Minister Badr Abdel Atty directed the consular sector of the ministry and the Egyptian embassy in Mexico to monitor the situation closely and provide support to the affected families. The Ministry extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by migrants as they seek better opportunities in different countries. Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
