Palestinian Statehood: A Call for Justice and Peace in the Middle East
In a recent article by Jeffrey Sachs and Sybil Fares, the urgent need for the establishment of a sovereign State of Palestine is underscored as a crucial step towards ensuring peace and security in the Middle East. Citing international law, numerous UNSC resolutions, and a recent ruling by the International Court of Justice, the authors highlight the unalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
Despite US rhetoric in favor of a two-state solution, the reality on the ground reveals a stark imbalance of power that gives Israel veto power over Palestinian rights.
