Deadly Floods Devastate Bosnia and Herzegovina

Tragedy struck Bosnia and Herzegovina as torrential rain led to deadly floods, claiming several lives and leaving many missing. The municipality of Jablanica, at the heart of the disaster, faced severe destruction with homes, roads, and bridges wiped out by landslides and rising waters.

The Bosnian interethnic presidency confirmed at least 14 fatalities in Jablanica, with numerous individuals still unaccounted for. The civil defence of the Bosniak-Croat Federation fears the death toll could escalate following the catastrophe.

Villages submerged, towns inundated, and roads damaged by the relentless floods showcased the magnitude of the crisis. Emergency aid efforts, including military support and helicopter evacuations, were crucial in rescuing those stranded, injured, and in need of help.

Neighbouring countries like Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia also faced flooding woes, painting a grim picture of the widespread impact of the natural disaster. The entire region grapples with the aftermath, hoping for relief and recovery amidst the chaos.
