In a recent briefing, Pentagon spokesperson Sabina Singh highlighted the successful use of air defense by Ukraine against Russian attacks. Singh emphasized the different landscapes and battlefields in Ukraine and Israel, dismissing any direct comparison between NATO actions in the two countries. She also addressed the potential involvement of the US military in Ukraine, emphasizing the current support provided by the US.

After a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Kyiv, President Zelensky suggested that neighboring NATO countries could assist in shooting down Russian missiles and drones over Ukraine, similar to how allies supported Israel during Iranian attacks. However, Zelensky acknowledged that partners are not yet ready to provide such assistance.

The issue of shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine was raised by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who later clarified that it was his personal opinion. Amid tensions, there were reports that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga had requested Romania to shoot down drones approaching the border.

The situation remains complex, with various stakeholders considering different approaches to supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.
