Private Schools in Islamabad to Close in Response to PTI Protest Call
In anticipation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest scheduled for Friday, the Private Schools Association in Islamabad has announced the closure of schools in the federal capital. Citing concerns for the safety of children, the association highlighted the difficulties caused by the presence of containers in the city, making it challenging for students to commute.
As the protest looms, the federal government has strategized to manage the situation. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in a joint press conference with IG Islamabad, underscored the presence of key international delegations in Pakistan, such as the Malaysian Prime Minister and a Saudi delegation. Naqvi voiced apprehension that PTI’s protest could negatively impact the country’s image and urged the party to act responsibly.
While acknowledging the right to protest, Naqvi emphasized the importance of upholding national dignity and not disrupting sensitive international events.
