Japanese chief government spokesperson Yoshimasa Hayashi sees President Xi’s message as a forward-looking gesture towards enhancing Japan-China relations. Hayashi highlighted the need for both countries to address their concerns and work together to build a stable and constructive relationship.
On the diplomatic front, Ishiba engaged in discussions with U.S. President Joe Biden, affirming their commitment to strengthening defense cooperation and regional stability. Additionally, Ishiba held talks with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, focusing on enhancing security cooperation.
As Japan navigates its relationships with China and other key partners, including the United States, the new government aims to balance dialogue and deterrence while promoting its defense and diplomatic policies to secure the nation’s interests.
