Marine Le Pen faced a grueling seven-hour wait before she could speak in court on Wednesday, October 2. The former president of the far-right Rassemblement National (RN) is accused of misusing European Parliament funds for unauthorized activities.
The prosecution revealed that 27 defendants siphoned €3,213,000 from 2004 to 2016, with the RN party facing additional charges. The complexity of the case and new indictments have added up to a total of €4,503,000 in misuse of public funds.
Administration ‘makes mistakes’
Le Pen criticized the European Parliament’s bias and accused the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) of politically influencing the investigation. She highlighted the challenges faced by MEPs opposing the European Union’s structure.
