Four police officers, including three sergeants and a constable, are currently in custody for their alleged involvement in a multimillion-rand house burglary in a prestigious residential suburb of Cape Town. Jacobus Groenewald, Bradley Minnaar, Mthuthuzeli Mafanya, and Bathandwa Soldati appeared in court and will remain in custody until their next hearing. The National Prosecuting Authority revealed that bail applications were delayed due to Soldati’s recent addition to the case.
The burglary, which targeted the property of a foreign national, was reported in the early morning hours and implicated multiple police officers. The case has been transferred to the provincial anti-corruption unit for further investigation. Capt FC van Wyk confirmed the arrest of one of the officers based on fingerprints found at the crime scene.
