A high-profile corruption case has rocked Wrocław as former Civic Platform party deputy head Janusz P. and two others were taken into custody by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. The trio is under investigation for their alleged involvement in a massive fraud scheme totaling 70 million PLN and affecting thousands of victims.

Spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński confirmed the men’s transfer to the prosecutor’s office, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges they are expected to face. The case, a joint effort between the CBA and the National Prosecutor’s Office, centers on suspicions of significant fraud and financial deception.

Prosecutor’s Office representative Przemysław Nowak revealed the extent of the fraud, highlighting the extensive damage caused to individuals. Minister of Internal Affairs Tomasz Siemoniak stressed the authorities’ commitment to fully investigating the case, with no restrictions on pursuing those responsible. The swift actions taken by law enforcement underscore the gravity of the situation, signaling a robust response to combat corruption in Wrocław.
