Israel and U.S. Vow Retaliation After Iran Concludes Attack
Iran announced the end of its missile attack on Israel, warning of stronger retaliation if provoked further. The U.S. and Israel have promised severe consequences for Iran’s actions, amid fears of an escalating conflict.
Washington pledged to support Israel in holding Iran accountable for the attack, while the United Nations Security Council and European Union urged an immediate ceasefire.
In response, Israel targeted Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon, with new evacuation orders issued following heavy strikes and plumes of smoke seen rising from the suburbs.
Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, resulting in no injuries in Israel but one fatality in the West Bank. Tehran described the campaign as defensive, targeting Israeli military facilities in retaliation for previous aggressions.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to respond forcefully to Iran’s actions, while Iran warned of “vast destruction” if Israel retaliated further.
The international community calls for restraint and de-escalation, with concerns of a wider regional conflict mounting.
