Israel bombs central Beirut, causing six deaths

Israel Strikes Beirut After Deadly Clashes with Hezbollah

Israel conducted a precise air strike on central Beirut, killing at least six people in retaliation for attacks by Hezbollah. The air strike targeted a building near parliament, marking the closest Israeli strike to Lebanon’s capital. Reports indicate that three missiles also hit the southern suburb of Dahiyeh and loud explosions were heard in the area.

On the Lebanese front, Hezbollah reported engaging in ground clashes with Israeli forces in Lebanon, resulting in the destruction of three Israeli tanks. Amid escalating tensions, Israel reinforced its ground operations in Lebanon, prompting concerns of a wider conflict in the Middle East.

In response to Iran’s missile attack on Israel, the United States and G7 leaders called for diplomacy to de-escalate the crisis. Meanwhile, China urged the UN Security Council to take urgent action to stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

With over 1.2 million Lebanese displaced by the conflict, the region remains volatile as both sides continue to exchange fire. The situation highlights the urgent need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further casualties and displacement.
