Israel airstrikes kill at least 6 in Beirut’s heart

Israel carried out a deadly airstrike in central Beirut, killing at least six people in the aftermath of clashes with Hezbollah. The targeted building in Bachoura district near parliament was hit directly, marking the closest strike to downtown Beirut by Israel.

The strike resulted in the death of six individuals and injuries to seven others as reported by Lebanese health officials. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and shared images of a damaged building engulfed in flames.

With tensions escalating, Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrallah was recently assassinated, weakening Iran’s influence in the region. In response, pro-Iranian groups across the Middle East have launched attacks, further fueling the conflict with Israel.

As the situation intensifies, Iran conducted its largest missile attack on Israel, prompting threats of retaliation. Global leaders, including US President Joe Biden, are urging restraint and seeking diplomatic resolutions to prevent a broader conflict in the region.

As violence persists and displaces millions, the need for a peaceful solution becomes increasingly urgent, with nations preparing evacuation plans and international bodies calling for de-escalation efforts.
