Iran’s political deputy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, criticized the UN Security Council for not taking action against the Zionist regime’s attacks on Iranian interests. He called for the imposition of severe sanctions under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.
Takht-Ravanchi blamed US and European support for Israel for hindering the Security Council from maintaining international peace and security. He highlighted Iran’s retaliatory operation against Israeli military positions as a response in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Despite showing restraint initially, Iran asserts that any further aggression from Israel will be met with severe consequences. Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that Iran seeks a peaceful resolution but will not tolerate further provocations from the Zionist regime.
Overall, Iran’s stance reflects a commitment to defending its sovereignty and interests while urging the UN Security Council to uphold its duties for global peace and security.
