The community of Eli in the West Bank is in mourning after the death of IDF Capt. Harel Etinger, who was killed by Hezbollah terrorists during Israel’s ground incursion into Lebanon. Etinger, only 23 years old, was the team commander in the Egoz Unit of the IDF’s Commando Brigade. This tragic loss hits close to home for the Etinger family, as Harel’s father was also murdered in a terrorist attack five years ago.
The Binyamin Regional Council expressed their sorrow, stating, “With a broken heart, we inform you that in the fighting in south Lebanon, Harel Etinger, was killed. He leaves behind his mother Tamar, and 11 brothers and sisters.” The council also emphasized the heroism of Harel, who fell in battle for the defense of Israel.
Despite the grief, the council remains resolute, declaring, “The enemy will not break our spirit. The people of Israel will fight bravely until victory.” The entire community of Eli stands united in honoring the memory of Capt. Harel Etinger.
