Greek, Cypriot evacuating from Lebanon within 80 characters

Amid escalating conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah, dozens of Greek and Cypriot nationals are being evacuated from Lebanon. The Hellenic Air Force dispatched a military transport plane to Beirut for the evacuation mission. About 60 civilians are scheduled to depart from the country under this operation.

The plane will make a brief stop in Beirut before heading to Larnaca and then Athens. Both Greece’s Defense and Foreign ministries are mobilizing transport planes and crisis management teams to assist citizens fleeing Lebanon, where an estimated 3,500 Greek nationals currently reside.

In the wake of heightened tensions and safety concerns, Greece and Cyprus are actively ensuring the safe return of their citizens from Lebanon. The evacuation efforts signify a proactive response to safeguard nationals amidst the escalating conflict in the region.
