Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah, Greek and Cypriot nationals are being evacuated from Lebanon via the Hellenic Air Force.
About 60 civilians have already been evacuated, with the military transport plane going from Beirut to Larnaca and then to Athens. Greece’s Defense and Foreign ministries are coordinating operations to assist citizens escaping the conflict in Lebanon, where an estimated 3,500 Greek nationals are currently residing.
