Eight Israeli soldiers die in clashes with Hezbollah in Lebanon

The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon has intensified, with eight Israeli soldiers killed in combat. Israel launched a ground invasion to dismantle Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure, resulting in casualties on both sides. Lebanese officials reported civilian deaths in Israeli air strikes in central Beirut. At the same time, Hezbollah fighters targeted Israeli troops with anti-tank missiles and explosives, inflicting casualties.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to win against Iran’s influence and asserted that the ground offensive would push Hezbollah back. US President Joe Biden refrained from supporting an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear sites. The ongoing conflict has led to significant destruction in Beirut, with many residents displaced and seeking shelter.

Hezbollah remains defiant, claiming to quickly recover its strength despite severe Israeli attacks. The civilian population in Lebanon, including families in Martyr’s Square, is suffering from the impact of the conflict, lacking basic necessities like diapers and medicine. The situation remains tense as both sides escalate hostilities, posing a threat to regional stability.
