Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced the country’s progress in green hydrogen and green ammonia production, with various global companies looking to establish plants for clean fuel production in Egypt. Madbouly met with a consortium led by John Cockerill, a Belgium-based mechanical engineering group specializing in electrolyzer components for green hydrogen projects.
The meeting, attended by Ministers of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Petroleum and Mineral Resources, discussed plans for an industrial complex to produce electrolyzer components in Egypt. Madbouly highlighted the government’s collaboration with John Cockerill and Norway’s Scatec to attract international companies interested in renewable energy projects.
John Cockerill’s Board Member, Jean Luc Maurange, expressed the group’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Egypt and shared their expertise as the leading producer of Alkaline Electrolyzers. The visit aims to strengthen partnerships and bolster Egypt’s position in the green energy sector.
