Falkland Islands: Dr. Andrea Clausen new Chief Executive
Dr. Andrea Clausen will assume the role of Chief Executive in early 2025
Dr. Andrea Clausen has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands Government (FIG) after a rigorous selection process. She will succeed the current Chief Executive, Andy Keeling, who has served diligently since March 2021.
The appointment has been met with praise from the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly and Governor. Andrea’s previous experience as Director of Natural Resources, Acting Chief Executive, and work in the private sector have prepared her well for the new role.
Andy Keeling expressed his confidence in Andrea’s capabilities, highlighting her leadership skills and commitment to the Islands. Governor Alison Blake also commended Andrea’s appointment, noting that she will be the first female Chief Executive of the Falkland Islands Government.
Dr. Clausen is set to take up her position in early 2025, following a transition period with Andy Keeling.
