The international conference during “Climate Action Week” focused on COP29 ended its third day in Baku with discussions on the theme of “Green Economy – Meeting the Skills, Finance, and Just Transition Challenge.” Key speakers included UN Climate Change High-Level Champion Nigar Arpadarai, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Babayev, and other officials highlighting the importance of international cooperation in ensuring a global flow of “green” capital and the need for investments in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure.
Azerbaijan aims to minimize carbon emissions and enhance recycling efforts, emphasizing the importance of human capital and innovative economic management in transitioning to a green economy. The conference also highlighted opportunities for modernizing Azerbaijan’s labor market and expanding the product line with “green” technologies.
This event sets the stage for COP29 in Baku this November, gathering participants from various sectors to discuss climate solutions and address the challenges of climate change and global warming.
