During the General Debate, many leaders denounced Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, urging an immediate end to hostilities. Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh condemned Israel’s aggression, calling for accountability for war crimes. Nicaraguan minister Valdrack Ludwing Jaentschke Whitaker condemned the actions of Israel and its allies, accusing them of genocide against Palestine and Lebanon.
A total of 193 leaders spoke during the General Debate, underscoring the global concern for peace in the Middle East. The call for a ceasefire reverberated throughout the speeches, highlighting the urgent need for dialogue and de-escalation in the region.
