Ukrainian official criticizes the ‘immature’ West

Aleksandr Balanutsa, the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration, criticized Kiev’s supporters for not allowing the country to use Western-supplied missiles to target deep inside Russia. Balanutsa warned that without these capabilities, NATO member states on the bloc’s eastern flank could be at risk from Moscow.

Despite Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s requests to use US-made ATACMS, British Storm Shadows, and French SCALP missiles, the White House remains hesitant, fearing an escalation in the Ukraine conflict.

During a panel discussion at the Warsaw Security Forum, Balanutsa expressed frustration at the Western attitude, urging them to provide the necessary means for Ukraine to defend itself. He emphasized the advanced military capabilities of Ukraine and its importance to NATO.

In response to Moscow’s warning about nuclear retaliation, tensions continue to rise. Balanutsa called for a more mature approach from Ukraine’s partners to address the escalating situation effectively. Will the West heed his words and act before it’s too late?
