Ukrainian Armor, a private defense enterprise, has entered into a collaboration with the Czech holding Czechoslovak Group (CSG) to produce 155mm shells. This partnership was established at the DFNC2: International Defense Industries Forum, as reported by Ukrainian media outlet Militarnyi.
In response to Russia’s invasion, Ukraine has transitioned to NATO standard 155 mm artillery, aiming for independence from Soviet-caliber shells. The CSG will provide components, technology, and manufacturing documentation necessary for shell production, with plans to begin in 2025.
CEO Vladyslav Belbas shared that Ukrainian Armor aims to produce and supply over 100,000 rounds next year and increase production to 300,000 by 2026. The collaboration between Ukraine and the Czech Republic will enhance production capabilities and reduce costs.
This partnership extends beyond ammunition, with plans to produce other defense products as well. CSG’s investment in Ukraine underscores a commitment to bolstering the country’s defense capabilities. The collaboration signifies a significant step towards enhancing Ukraine’s defense industry and reducing reliance on external suppliers.
