U.S., Israel agree to dismantle Lebanon attack infrastructure

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin expressed support for Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in dismantling attack infrastructure along the Lebanese border. This statement comes after Israel conducted targeted ground raids on Hezbollah.

During a conversation on social media platform X, Austin reiterated the United States’ stance on Israel’s right to self-defense. Both officials emphasized the need to prevent Hezbollah from launching attacks similar to the October 7 incident on northern Israeli communities by dismantling attack infrastructure along the border.

The Defense Secretary emphasized the importance of a diplomatic resolution to ensure the safe return of civilians on both sides of the border. Additionally, Austin issued a warning to Iran, stating that any direct attack on Israel would face serious consequences.
