Caretaker Prime Minister Mikati Urges Unity Amid Israeli Aggression

Recent events in Lebanon have prompted Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati to call for unity and solidarity among the Lebanese people. In a meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt, Mikati condemned the Israeli aggression targeting Lebanon which resulted in the deaths of many Lebanese citizens.

Mikati emphasized the importance of national unity in the face of adversity, particularly in supporting displaced families from various regions of Lebanon. He commended the government’s efforts in providing assistance to those in need and urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities to support Lebanon during this challenging time.

The Prime Minister reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to implementing Security Council Resolution 1701 and called for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further escalation of the conflict. Mikati urged the Lebanese army to carry out its duties in coordination with peacekeeping forces in the south of the country.
