Neglecting mental health is a crime

Neglecting mental health is a crime

Welcome to the blog of Hector Manuel Rodriguez.

Prisons are not equipped to handle the complex issues surrounding mental health. In a society where mental health has become a growing concern, it is evident that incarcerating individuals with mental health struggles is not the answer. The lack of proper care and resources in prisons only exacerbates the problem, leading to a cycle of repeat offenses and worsening conditions for those in need of help.

In order to address the mental health crisis effectively, we must shift our focus towards providing comprehensive mental health support and resources outside of the prison system. By investing in community-based programs, therapy, and mental health education, we can create a more compassionate and effective approach to supporting individuals with mental health challenges. Ignoring mental health is not only detrimental to those affected, but it is also a disservice to society as a whole.
