The Role of Western Media in the Genocide in Gaza
The ongoing genocide in Gaza, where more than 41,000 Palestinians have been murdered, 70% of them innocent children and women, is being hidden and justified by Western media through propaganda techniques. By suppressing facts, distorting the news, and framing narratives in favor of Israel, Western media has become complicit in Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinian people. Despite international calls for cease-fire, the Israeli army, heavily armed by the West, continues to commit atrocities with impunity.
This manipulation of information by Western media mirrors historical instances of media being used to incite violence and genocide. The Nuremberg trials in the aftermath of World War II showcased how media personnel were held accountable for their role in promoting hatred and violence. Today, the Western media’s biased coverage of the situation in Gaza not only obscures the truth but also actively supports Israel’s crimes against humanity.
It is high time for the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold accountable the Western media outlets enabling the genocide in Gaza by distorting facts and silencing the voices of the oppressed. The ethical boundaries of journalism have been crossed, and it is imperative to ensure that those complicit in such heinous acts are brought to justice.
