Iran Launches Missile Barrage on Israel in Retaliation

Israel confirmed late Tuesday that Iran fired a barrage of missiles at the country, claiming it as retaliation for the assassinations of senior Iranian, Hamas, and Hezbollah officials. The attack included at least 180 missiles, causing sirens to sound across the country and halting operations at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. As a safety measure, Israel closed its airspace and urged residents in southern and central regions to take shelter.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir deployed 13,000 emergency volunteers, and the military intercepted several Iranian missiles. Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq closed their airspace, and a Palestinian worker in the West Bank was killed by falling shrapnel. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps claimed responsibility for the attack in response to the assassinations of prominent leaders.

This unprecedented ballistic attack prompted regional safety precautions, with injuries reported in Jordan. The situation remains tense, with ongoing security measures in place to protect civilians and prevent further escalation.
