By 2025, Sindh CM Shah to reconstruct flood-hit schools in Pakistan.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has set a target for the reconstruction of 3,328 schools damaged by the 2022 floods by the end of the fiscal year. The devastating floods in 2022 caused widespread destruction in Pakistan, with Balochistan and Sindh being the worst affected provinces.

During a review meeting, Shah was informed that the reconstruction and repair of schools have already begun under various projects totaling Rs114.3 billion. Projects like SSEIP, SELECT, DEEP, ASPIRE, and others are underway to rebuild schools and ensure the education of 824,008 children affected by the floods.

The Education Minister has been tasked to oversee the construction work personally to meet the completion deadline of June 2025. The government is also in the process of securing funds for the remaining 16,480 schools that require repair or reconstruction.

The School Education Department has developed a dashboard to monitor progress on all schools, including the damaged ones. This initiative will ensure transparency and accountability throughout the reconstruction process. With dedicated efforts and funds, the government aims to restore the education infrastructure and support the affected communities.
