The latest data from the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) reveals a positive growth trend in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). In the second quarter of this year, the real GDP growth compared to the same quarter last year was 2.2 percent.
Notably, the construction sector saw a significant increase in gross added value, with an impressive growth rate of 8.9 percent in the second quarter. The GDP measured by the expenditure approach also showed a growth of 2.2 percent compared to the previous year.
Moreover, all GDP categories by the expenditure approach recorded real growth in the second quarter. Household consumption grew by 1.8 percent, government consumption by 1.9 percent, gross investments by 9.6 percent, and both exports and imports of goods and services also saw positive growth rates.
Overall, the seasonally adjusted data series for the second quarter of this year indicate a stable and growing economy in BiH, with a positive GDP growth rate of 1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
