New York, US – The United Nations General Assembly’s 79th session recently concluded with a powerful plea to prevent a full-scale war in the volatile Middle East. Representatives from 190 countries, including world leaders, addressed the Assembly, emphasizing the urgent need for peace amidst escalating crises in Gaza, Lebanon, and Sudan.
President of the General Assembly, Philemon Yang, urged global leaders to take immediate action to avoid a comprehensive war in the region. He called for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the release of all hostages. Yang stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomacy over sending arms to stabilize the situation and reiterated the necessity of a two-state solution for lasting peace in the area.
