UK MPs urge for sanctions on Israel in response to Lebanon attacks

Jeremy Corbyn, the former Labour Party leader and now Independent MP, spoke passionately at a Pro Palestinian rally demanding a ceasefire outside Whitehall. Along with four other pro-Palestine MPs, they called on the UK government to impose sanctions on Israel due to its aggressive actions in Gaza and Lebanon. The MPs urged for a complete arms embargo, economic sanctions, and a withdrawal of diplomatic support for Israel. This comes after the UK government suspended only a small portion of arms export licenses to Israel, which rights groups argue is insufficient. Corbyn emphasized the need for a total suspension of arms sales to Israel, highlighting the devastating impact on civilians in both Gaza and Lebanon. He called for an immediate halt to arms sales to prevent further escalation and loss of innocent lives. As tensions continue to rise, the international community must prioritize peace and human rights over weapons sales, setting a strong message against violence and conflict in the Middle East.
