Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus emphasized the urgent need for the international community to take decisive action in bringing peace to conflict zones to prevent future turmoil. During a meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubbat in Ankara, Kurtulmus warned of potential global turmoil if warmongers are not countered with greater efforts for peace.
He specifically highlighted the Russia-Ukraine war as a growing threat that could destabilize the entire region, emphasizing the importance of reestablishing a platform for peace that includes all relevant parties, including Russia.
Furthermore, Kurtulmus condemned Israel’s aggressive actions in the region, stating that it poses a risk of expanding conflict. Israel’s recent airstrikes in Syria and Lebanon have raised tensions and led to casualties, prompting concerns of further escalation.
In light of these developments, Kurtulmus stressed the importance of strengthening ties between Turkey and Finland, particularly within NATO, to promote security and stability in the region.
