LocalCircles: 8 in 10 Indians surveyed want government to make it mandatory for all packaged foods to have packaging that is recyclable, compostable, biodegradable or reusable by end of 2025
A recent survey by LocalCircles found that 8 out of 10 Indians want the government to mandate all packaged foods to have recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, or reusable packaging by the end of 2025. The survey, which received over 22,000 responses, highlighted the issue of discarded wrappers and bottles in various areas despite the 10-year mark of Swachh Bharat Mission.
The majority of respondents reported commonly seeing plastic waste such as wrappers of chips, candies, and plastic bottles of water on streets and footpaths. The survey indicated a strong desire for sustainable packaging solutions among citizens.
Furthermore, the survey revealed that most Indians want strict regulations to ensure environmentally friendly packaging by 2025. LocalCircles, a Community Social Media platform, conducted the survey to address concerns and advocate for policies that prioritize sustainability.
