Punjab imposes Section 144 in Mianwali for PTI rally

Section 144 Imposed in Mianwali by Punjab Government

The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Mianwali from October 1 to 7, prohibiting political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, and protests. This decision comes following a protest call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for October 2 in Mianwali.

The Punjab Home Department issued a notification recommending the enforcement of Section 144 in response to the district administration’s concerns. Rangers have been deployed in the area to maintain order, with two companies stationed from October 1 to October 3.

Section 144 aims to ensure public safety, protect lives and property, and mitigate potential terrorism threats in the region. The timing coincides with PTI’s planned protest directed by Imran Khan on October 2. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any disturbances during this critical period.
